Kevin Smith is Publisher and a consultant with TEAM Resources and brings extensive experience in designing and implementing professional development resources to grow leaders within the credit union industry. He also oversees the TEAM Resources board self-evaluation programs, facilitates strategic planning with credit unions and nonprofits, and regularly speaks at industry conferences and events.
Kevin spent ten years working with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) in Madison, WI developing and administrating training programs for credit union executives, directors, supervisory committees and others. Previous to CUNA, he taught a for number of years at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater as an adjunct instructor. Kevin’s background in teaching and training is augmented by his work on credit union related programs in print, online, webinar, live schools and large conference formats.
While at CUNA, one of his major accomplishments was the creation and development of the week-long CUNA Volunteer Certification Program. Through this program, Kevin has assisted hundreds of credit union directors and volunteers in preparing for and receiving the Certified Credit Union Volunteer (CCUV) designation. Additionally, Kevin grew the CUNA Supervisory Committee Conference held annually in Las Vegas to the largest Supervisory Committee conference and training in the country.
Kevin now brings this breadth of experience as a speaker, teacher and facilitator to credit union boards and management teams. He is a certified Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) through the National Credit Union Foundation. With Kevin’s understanding of credit unions and their common issues, he is an asset to strengthening their strategy moving forward.
Before joining CUNA, Kevin spent several years teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
He holds a Master’s degree from DePaul University, Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree from Miami University, Oxford, OH.
